Upstate Z Club
Connecting Z Enthusiasts of the South Carolina Upstate

2/13/17 - We had a great turnout for the February meeting. Somewhere between 20 and 25 enthuZiasts showed up to talk about big changes for the club. First and foremost, we will be changing the timing AND location of the monthly gatherings. Notice that I did not say "meetings". We don't use that term any longer to refer to what should be fun and interesting events.

Our standing monthly gathering will not be on the 2nd Saturday of each month and will be held at the Chandler School.

Over time this will become an amazing venue for our club gatherings.  The school has great facilities for having guest speakers, a car lift and the headmaster has plans to convert what used to be the 3-car garage back into a shop and classroom for the ACEs.

For those not familiar with the ACEs, this is the Automotive Culture & Engineering kids at the school.  You can read more about it on our website.

Our first gathering at the school will be March 11th starting at noon.  This follows the Easley Cars & Coffee event.  So if you are a morning person or can manage to get yourself out of bed, come to Easley Cars & Coffee that Saturday morning and then come over to the club gather at the School.

There are many activities and projects being planned for our future gatherings.  This includes working on projects together and instructional topics.  Club members can event use the lift to work on their own cars.

There will even racing opportunities.  The Chandler School is a sponsor of ChumpCar World Series and routinely races a team at Road Atlanta and other venues in the Southeast.  The ACEs get to play pit crew at these events.  We are looking into forming a club racing team that can participate with the school.

There is so much more to tell and so much more coming.  Club members can find the minutes from the meeting in the DocumentZ section of our website.  Hope to see you in March!

We are open to considering occasional alternative locations for our monthly meetings to accommodate those who either can not make it during the week or live too far away to come to the standard Greenville meeting.  In order to schedule these special gatherings, we need commitment from those who would benefit.

If you would like a gathering in your area on a weekend, please contact me at If you know other Z owners in your area, lobby them to contact me as well. Given sufficient lead time, I'm sure that we could have a very good showing
